Test debutant Kyle Mayers wrote himself into the history books when he scored a magnificent, stroke-filled 210 not out to rescue the West Indies from the brink of defeat and led them to a 1-0 lead in the two match series against Bangladesh in Chattogram, on Sunday.

 Jamaica’s most historic international cricket ground, Sabina Park, will host its 50th Test match today when the West Indies takes on Pakistan in the first of a three match Test Series beginning at 10am.

Two other Test venues in the region have reached that milestone, The Kensington Oval in Barbados and the Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad and Tobago.

All systems are in place for the start of the 2nd leg of the Test Cricket series between the West Indies and India at Sabina Park in Kingston.  The action gets underway this Saturday July 30 and runs until August 3.

Plans were outlined at a media launch held Wednesday July 27 at Sabina Park. Among those in attendance at the launch were Sports and Culture Minister Olivia ‘Babsy’ Grange, Director of Tourism Paul Pennicook, Charge d’ Affairs at the India High Commission Subbalaskshmi Mohan and executives of the Jamaica Cricket Association.

JOHN’S, Antigua – With the increased demand for information regarding the value of cricket events to the Caribbean economy, the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) commissioned an economic impact evaluation on the 2015 England tour of the Caribbean. The information garnered focused on the three islands where the Test Matches were hosted Antigua, Barbados and Grenada.

An innings and 220 runs battering from the World number One Test cricket team South Africa, has left a lot of fans in the Caribbean and around the world wondering ifs the gap is that wide between both the Proteas and the West Indies.

Currently ranked at eight in the world, the Caribbean team could only manage a cumulative score of 332 in both innings (201 and 131 respectively) going down inside of three days in the first Test match.

KINGSTOWN, St Vincent (CMC) — West Indies scored a comprehensive 10-wicket win over Bangladesh to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series at Arnos Vale here yesterday.
