St. John’s, ANTIGUA – The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) wishes to advise that two of the 15-member squad selected to participate in the ICC World Twenty20 in India in March to April have withdrawn.

The players and reasons are:

1) On Tuesday February 9, Kieron Pollard withdrew from the squad citing a lack of sufficient progress in his rehabilitative work (injury sustained in December) and hence won’t be fit for tournament.

MUMBAI, India (CMC) — Legendary former West Indies captain Clive Lloyd believes the time has come to fight for players and ensure their careers are not ended prematurely by the politics of the game.

Lloyd, the West Indies chairman of selectors, was speaking in the wake of the decision by Champions League Twenty20 organisers to ban West Indies off-spinner Sunil Narine from bowling in the tournament, after he was twice reported by umpires for a suspected illegal bowling action.

MUMBAI, India (CMC) — Chief West Indies cricket selector Clive Lloyd has suggested the possibility of a sinister motive behind the decision to suspend spinner Sunil Narine from the Champions League T20 final.

Narine was suspended from bowling in Saturday's final for Kolkata Knight Riders against Chennai Super Kings because of a suspect bowling action.

However, Lloyd has disclosed that the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) and the West Indies team management had been told that Narine would be under the scanner in India by a source whose identity he did not disclose.
