ST JOHN’S, Antigua – The West Indies Under-19 team will have a seven-match tour of South Africa in mid-year as they continue preparation for the International Cricket Council’s Under-19 World Cup.


West Indies won their first Under-19 World Cup in February 2016 in Bangladesh, under the captaincy of Shimron Hetmyer. The Caribbean side will again be coached by Graeme West and will look to defend the trophy when they play in New Zealand in January, 2018.

ST JOHN’S, Antigua – The West Indies Selection Panel today named the 14-man squad for the first four matches of the upcoming Tri Nation One-Day International Series.

The squad includes two players who are yet to play in ODIs for the West Indies. These are: off-spinner Ashley Nurse, who was a member of the West Indies team which won the ICC World T20 last month; and fast bowler Shannon Gabriel, who has played 16 Test matches.

St. John’s, ANTIGUA – West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has appointed Kyazoonga as its new ticketing partner for its home series in all formats in the region.

Tickets for the upcoming one-day international tri-series with West Indies, Australia and South Africa, which begins on Friday, June 3 in Guyana, will be available on this new platform.

Kyazoonga is a worldwide leader in supplying ticketing systems and services to the sports, entertainment and leisure industries and they are already the partners for the Caribbean Premier League.

Olympian and Paralympian Oscar Pistorius was convicted of murder in a South Africa's Supreme Court of Appeal on Wednesday.

The athlete was originally charged with culpable homicide and sentenced to five years in prison, after shooting his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in February 2013.

South Africa bundled out Sri Lanka for a paltry 113 in the first quarter final game of the ICC Cricket World Cup before easing to the target in a mere 18 overs to secure passage to the semifinals for the first time since 1999.

The Proteas who have never won a knockout game in World Cup history before this, completed an impressive to send a warning to their next opponents.

Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bat first which proved to be the wrong decision as the combination of Dale Steyn and Kyle Abbott bowl removed Sri Lanka's openers as the score read 2-4.

Bangalesh created history when they knocked England out of the tournament going against the odds to move on to the knockout stage for the first time in World Cup history.

England entered the game knowing they had to win to keep their hopes of advancing to the knockout stage alive.
