The expected new coach bounce failed to materialize for Waterhouse FC at their Mini-Stadium on Sunday, as visitors Boys Town FC snatched all three points from the home team, clipping them 2-1 to reverse the 3-1 result from the first round at the same venue.

For all intents and purposes, Marvin Tate would have coached his last game at Waterhouse FC this season after his team succumbed to their third loss in four games at the hands of the UWI FC on Sunday.

A narrow 1-0 loss, their third such defeat in a string of bad results, has seen the former champions slip back into the relegation zone as they remain on 11 points and in 11th place in the 12 team league.

The University of the West Indies FC (UWI FC) retuned to the top of the Red Stripe Premier League for a few hours on Sunday after they clipped former champions Waterhouse FC 1-0 at the UWI Bowl courtesy of a 17th minute strike from Davion Garrison.

Portmore United climbed to the top of the Red Stripe Premier League for the first time in the 2016-2017 season when they registered their third win on the trot on Wednesday, clipping former league leaders UWI FC 1-0 at the UWI Mona Bowl. An 87th minute strike from Maalique Foster was enough to earn all three points for the visitors on a day when all six games played in the league, ended in 1-0 score lines.

A 1-0 away win over leaders Humble Lion FC courtesy of an 84th minute penalty from captain Rochane Smith, allowed the University of the West Indies FC to continue their great run in the Red Stripe Premier League on Sunday.

Humble Lion FC became the first team in the Red Stripe Premier League this season not to fall from the top of the table the week after going to the summit, when they played out a 1-1 draw with Portmore United last weekend.

After four match days of the 2016-2017 Red Stripe Premier League campaign, both Waterhouse FC and Boys Town FC are yet to gain a point. Four losses on the trot see both former premier league champions propping up the table with Waterhouse rooted at the bottom on goal difference.

Waterhouse FC talisman, Jermaine ‘Tuffy’ Anderson is set for a return to action very soon in the Red Stripe Premier League. The 37 year old has returned to training with the club and is hopeful of returning to the fray when the league resumes from its impromptu break, enforced by Hurricane Matthew.
