The giants of North Street, Kingston College and St Jago High from Monk Street in Spanish Town, were left celebrating historic victories inside the Franklin Field Stadium on day three of the 122th staging of the Penn Relays on Saturday, while Jamaica College pulled off a massive upset to stun favourites Calabar High in the High School Boys 4x400m, as the curtains came down on yet another fantastic staging of the prestigious relays.

Excelsior High's standout athlete, Shanice Love created a major upset at the Frankfield Stadium, when she produced another massive throw of 54.72m to cop the High School Girls Discus Title in a new Penn Relays Record. Her mark surpassed Gleneve Grange’s (formerly of Holmwood Tech) 2013 mark of 54.29m.

The 2016 dream season continues for Excelsior High's Shanice Love after she produced yet another personal best and record breaking effort of 54.72m to secure the top spot in the High School Girls Discus finals earlier this morning, on Day One of the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, USA.

Just a few weeks after winning Gold and breaking the Class One Girls Discus record at the ISSA/Grace Kennedy Boys and Girls Championhips, then going on to win the top prize at the 2016 Carifta Games, Shanice Love is now the National Junior Discuss record holder.

UWI Invitational Track & Field Meet,Grace Jackson, Penn Relays,

The 14th UWI Invitational Track & Field Meet is set to sizzle at the UWI/Usain Bolt track at the Mona campus in Kingston on Saturday April 2 starting at midday with preliminary events by prep and primary schools and high schools preparing for the Penn Relays.  The opening ceremony begins at 1:00 pm after which the professional athletes will take to the track for high level competition.

KINGSTON, Jamaica; World Championships 4x400 meter silver medalist, Javon Francis has been named in to a 21 member squad to compete for Jamaica at the Penn Relays, April 23 – 25. Fresh of a new season’s best of 45.50 at the UTECH Classics Francis will compete in the USA versus the World 4X400M alongside Javere Bell, Ricardo Chambers, Allodin Fothergill and Rusheen McDonald who completes the squad.
