In what many would described as an outstanding season in track and field, former Mannings School and junior star athlete, Kaliese Spencer is hoping to top it off with the prestigious IAAF World Female Athlete of the Year. The reigning Commonwealth Games Champion is the only athlete from the land of the sprinting powerhouse Jamaica, shortlisted for this year's IAAF World Athlete of the Year Awards.

Ten of the nation’s best athletes have been selected to represent the America’s at the 2014 edition of the IAAF Intercontinental Cup, to be held in Marrakech,Morocco from September 13- 14.

The athletes include newly crowned Diamond League champion and two time Olympic champion Veronica Campbell-Brown, 400H world leader and four time Diamond league Kaliese Spencer, CommonWealth gold medalist, Triple jumper, Kimberly Williams and quarter-miler Stephanie Ann McPherson.

Just when Trinidad and Tobago Sprinter Kelly-Ann Baptiste thought there was a light at the end of her dark tunnel, news came that International Association of Athletic Federation (IAAF) will appeal the National Association of Athletics Administrations (NAAA’s) decision to lift her ban for an anti-doping rule violation during the IAAF World Championships in Moscow last year.
