Caribbean football powerhouse Trinidad and Tobago were today suspended by the world football governing body FIFA after they failed to withdraw court proceedings despite two clear chances to do so.

FIFA earlier today outlined the need for their course of action in media release posted on their website.

“The Bureau of the FIFA Council today suspended the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) with immediate effect due to grave violations of the FIFA Statutes.

Fifa president Gianni Infantino has become the centre of legal proceedings filed by Swiss prosecutors in relation to an alleged secret meeting the head of world football's governing body held with the Swiss attorney general Michael Lauber.

The new Concacaf World Cup qualification format was revealed by the regional body on Monday, even as it was announced that five teams have already qualified for the final stage which will begin in June 2021.

Disgraced FIFA President Joseph ‘Sepp' Blatter and UEFA President Michel Platini were both given respective eight year bans from football by the FIFA Ethics Committee on Monday.

They were found guilty of breaches surrounding a £1.3m ($2m) "disloyal payment" made to Platini in 2011.

The outgoing president of the FIFA, Joseph Sepp Blatter is being questioned by the Swiss Attorney General, this according to reports coming out of the BBC.

FIFA, football’s highest governing body has been rocked with scandals recently and now Blatter is being investigated on “suspicion of misappropriation and criminal mismanagement”.

A press conference that was scheduled to take place today at the headquarters in Zurich was cancelled.

The group will then travel to Western Jamaica, where they will be in attendance for the 2015 CONCACAF Under-20 Championships Group-A match between Jamaica and the United States at the Montego Bay Sports Complex.

Veralton Nembhard became the youngest person in the World to earn a FIFA Referee badge at the age of 26 when he was bestowed the honour on Saturday, during the half time break of the Under-20 match between Jamaica and Cuba at the Waterhouse Mini-Stadium. Nembhard was the man in the middle for that game which Jamaica won 2-1.
