Photo: The Reggae Boyz will be seeking to make their third Concacaf Gold Cup final in four tournaments at the 2021 staging next year.





Concacaf, on Monday night conducted the first ever Gold Cup draw to set the scene for the 2021 edition of the region’s flagship men’s international competition. The event was hosted by Emmy award winning TUDN sportscaster Lindsay Casinelli and Fox Sports Lead Soccer Analyst and United States Men’s National Team legend Alexi Lalas.

Despite a very low spectator turnout and a small number of entrants, all of the athletes who performed at the inaugural staging of the Jamaica Administrative Athletics Association (JAAA) Under-18 Invitational Meet were happy to be associated with the event.

Canada and Jamaica are both on a point each after drawing their respective opening games. With all four teams in group B on level pegging on a point each, they still have all to play for to secure a spot in the second round. In the early kick off on Saturday, Jamaica and Canada will be desperately seeking maximum points.

The battle for a spot in the next round is paramount on Winfred Schaefer's mind as the 'Reggae Boyz' take on Canada in their second match in group B on Saturday July 11, at the BBVA Compass Stadium, Houston, Texas.
