For several months he has been linked with a move away from the Signal Iduna Park especially with German giants Bayern Munich hot on his trail. It was revealed by Bayern president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge that his release clause is €25 and becomes active next summer. Despite all the uncertainty surrounding his future, Marco Reus refused to pledge his allegiance to Borussia Dortmund for the future.

The 2013 Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund have put talks on hold for the forseeable future with their star man Marco Reus. The 25 year old attacker has reportedly been refusing to agree a new deal with the Gelsenkirchen club as he is seeking a new challenge. In light of their poor form in the Bundesliga, the club has made it clear that they are focusing on the performance on the pitch before continuing discussions with Reus.

Since finishing 5th in the 2009/2010 season of the Bundesliga, Borussia Dortmund has been enjoying perhaps the most successful period in their history. The Gelsenkirchen club has since then lifted the Bundesliga title twice, the German Cup once as well as an impressive run to the Champions League final in 2013. Their enthusiastic manager Jurgen Klopp has built their success based on the promise of youth and putting together a team that reflects his personality as a human being.

Despite being the obvious threat to Bayern Munich's Bundesliga title, Borussia Dortmund has another battle on their hands that is affecting their ability to challenge the Bavarians. Jurgen Klopp must be cursing his luck because over the last 12 months he has been unable to have a full squad at his disposal. The injuries are piling up at the Signal Iduna Park and the injuries suffered are to their key players.
