Jamaica's five- man team of Dominic Pagon, non playing captain, Rowland " Randy" Phillips, Dimitri Bird, Duainne Miller and Marcus Malcolm, that will participate in the 2018 Americas  Zone, Group 3 Davis Cup competition, will leave the island on Saturday for Costa Rica.

 

The tournament will take place at the Costa Rica Country Club, and will run from May 28 to June 2, 2018.

 

Eight other teams will be participating in this competition. They are Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Bermuda, Costa Rica, Cuba, Honduras, Panama and Paraguay.

When the IAAF/BTC 2017 World Relays gets going in Bahamas on 22-23 April, a mega purse of US$1.26 million will be paid out by the organizers to the men's and women's races.

The eight finalists in each event will not only gain qualifying spots to the London, World Championships this summer, but also cash prizes.

A mix of youth and experience aptly describes the 41 member Jamaican contingent to the third IAAF World Relays set for Nassau, Bahamas, on April 22-23, 2017.
The women's squad is led by reigning Olympic sprint-double champion, Elaine Thompson, whilst Asafa Powell is listed among the top male competitors.
