Waterhouse FC dashed the hopes of Cavalier SC when they came back from a one nil half time deficit, to win 2-1 and clinch the final spot in the semi-finals of the KSAFA/Jackie Bell KO competition, at the Waterhouse Mini-Stadium on Thursday night courtesy of a brace from striker Juvaune Benjamin.

A lively opening by both teams got the crowd in the contest early and the home team came close to scoring early when a hooked effort towards goal by Tremaine Stewart was cleared off the line by Cavalier captain Jeffrey Grant.
The visitors showed very good defensive organization and after that opening moment Waterhouse found Cavalier hard to break down.

Playing on the counter, Cavalier tried to pick their spots to attack whenever the Waterhouse team got stretched.
Long diagonals from Damion Binns down the right channel for Jermaine Anderson, Damarley Samuels and Benjamin to chase, helped Waterhouse to create a few openings, but the danger was quickly snuffed out on each occasion as Cavalier did a good job maintaining their shape and discipline.

Cavalier caught Waterhouse cold when they took the lead on minute 32. A quick throw-in on half line allowed Jenkins space to work in and the midfielder slipped by two defenders before firing past Richard McCallum to stun the home fans.

A more purposeful Waterhouse team came out in the second half and despite their first half solidity; Cavalier saw their lead evaporate after just eight second half minutes. A beautiful pass from Romario Campbell was easily tapped home by Benjamin to make it 1-1.

Benjamin bagged his brace and the game winner just seven minutes later, when he let fly from 28 yards. The ball took a deflection before flying into the top corner as Benjamin put his lean spell in front of goal behind him.
Cavalier was forced to chase an equalizer to stay in the game and this made the match a more open affair.

Campbell came close on two occasions for Waterhouse, while Claudius Blackburn was denied twice by McCallum with good headers on target as he searched for the equalizer for his team.

The win for Waterhouse means they will face Boys Town in one semi-final while Harbour View will face Barbican who defeated Rockfort by a similar score of 2-1, in the earlier quarter-final.

The draw for the semi-finals was conducted at the Waterhouse Mini-Stadium by KSAFA executives. The date for the semi-finals is to be announced.
