Damion Harwood produced a sublime chip over the head of Davin Watkins in the 90th minute of play to help seal a spot in the semi-finals of the Yellow Pages/Jackie Bell KO competition for Harbour View last night.

It was a great piece of skill from the striker at a key moment in the game. The goal meant that Harbour View went 2-0 up and despite grabbing a stoppage time goal, the defending champions Tivoli Gardens were sent packing by the Stars of the East.

Speaking with Yardie Sports after the game, Harwood said it was just about being brave enough to execute that particular technique.

“It’s all about practise from training. I just have to be brave enough to execute it in a game. I did it twice in training this week, so when I saw the keeper (Watkins) advancing I just went for it and the ball went in.”

Harwood says he and his teammates are confident about going all the way this season.

“Any team comes we just have to put out our best,” he said. “It doesn’t matter who the opponents are, as long as we play as a team, follow instructions and execute, we will get the job done.”

Harbour View will face Boys Town in the semi-finals after the Red Brigade disposed of Arnett Gardens 4-2 in the second game of the double header.
