Cavalier SC brought a halt to their three match losing streak with a 3-1 win over Boys Town to close out round one of the Red Stripe Premier League in an unlikely second position. They will be looking to show that their performance over the first fourteen weeks of the competition was no fluke as action in round two begins.

Today they host sixth placed RivolI United at Stadium East in the hunt for three points with the main aim being to close the gap on first place Waterhouse FC to just one point.

Cavalier has surprised many with their performance so far this season and actually led the league for a long time before being surpassed by Waterhouse. The team is built on a culture of giving youth a chance to play. Technical Director Rudolph Speid showed just how effective the young players can be when his three substitutes against Boys Town, a 20 years old and two teenagers, came on to change the game and help secure three points.

They will be looking to another check in the win column and captain Girvon Brown will be looking to keep his good goal scoring form going, but they will know that today’s opponents are no pushovers.

Rivoli United are comfortably positioned in sixth place and have shown that there is life after Devon Hodges. Corey Burke has taken over the goal scoring responsibilities and is second in the goal scoring charts with seven.

The Calvert Fitzgerald coached aggregation likes to play the ball on the ground as do Cavalier and on the proper playing surface at Stadium East should produce a good game of football.

Rivoli will be aiming to push on from mid-table by notching up a win to begin round two.

On match day one the game ended 1-1 and the chances of another score draw are likely again today.
