Boys Town take aim at Sporting Central

Red Stripe Premier League,Sporting Central FC,Boys Town,Andrew Price,Francois Swaby,

Former Premier League champions Boys Town FC ended the first round of the RSPL 2014-2015 season at the foot of the table after having barely avoided relegation at the end of last season. Today they host 9th placed Sporting Central FC victory at Collie Smith Drive at 3:00pm hunting three points.

The Red Brigade was caught up in a relegation scrap almost all of last season and must be anxious to avoid a similar situation this term, despite their current lowly position. The rhetoric from coach Andrew Price this season has been pretty similar to the last. Ruing missed chances and promising to continue to work hard has been the post match comments after most games.

Quietly however, the former Boys Town player must be thinking that January can’t come fast enough for the transfer window to open up so he can add to his under-performing squad.

While teenager Shamar Nicholson has been a revelation this season, scoring four goals and leading the line admirably, the senior players at Boys Town have not lived up to expectations and the squad is in desperate need of being refreshed.

Sporting Central ended the last round with a 0-0 draw away to league leaders Waterhouse despite playing against ten men for three quarters of the match. Speaking at the end of the game coach Nigel Stewart admitted that goal scoring has been a major issue for the club, hence their lowly position and is hoping for a change in fortunes in this critical second round.

Striker Francois Swaby started the season like a house on fire scoring twice on the opening day, but has since tapered off and will be hoping that the start of the new round will bring better fortunes in front of goal. He will be looking to add to his tally of four as his team looks to repeat the 3-0 spanking they put on the West Kingston team on match day one.

Both teams will be looking for a good start to round two so fans can expect a fast paced, open game which should produce goals.
