Arnett must turn it around at home against Humble Lion

Arnett Gardens is a club in trouble. Having had a bright start to the season, the team has been in free fall in recent weeks. Four losses in five games has seen the “Junglists” slip all the way down to 7th place in the standings in the Red Stripe Premier League, and the midweek 5-0 hammering they received against champions Montego Bay United at Wespow Park, shows how deep their problems run.

When they face fellow strugglers Humble Lion at 6:00pm on Sunday, at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex, three points will be a must. Though not off the pace by much, as they are tied on 14 points with 5th and 6th place Rivoli United and Reno FC respectively, this ambitious club will be looking to put an end to their precipitous slide from first position to mid-table in a few short weeks.

Humble Lion is unlikely to be timid in the “Jungle” however, as their struggles this season have seen them rooted in the relegation zone almost from the get go. A midweek 2-2 at home against former champions Harbour View has seen them inch out of the relegation zone, but only just.

They lie in 10th position but lead 11th place Boys Town only on goal difference. Humble Lion will not want to get sucked back into the bottom two as the first round comes to an end and so will be definitely looking to heap more pressure on Arnett coach, Jerome Waite.
