The Jamaica Football Federation in association with Digicel will stage another Grassroots Clinic on Saturday, November 29 at the Greenvale Community Center, Manchester.

Even more strengthened in its belief that teaching the basics of football at the early age, is the source of sustainable success in the sport, these clinics for ages 6-12 have been held at the Tivoli Community Center; JFF Football Center; Sabina Park and Wembley Stadium of Excellence (Clarendon) since Year three of the programme begun in November of this year. To date four hundred kids have been involved in these clinics.

For year three, the clinics are now structured on an age specific basis with more focused technique sessions with the nine to twelve year olds and introduction of the basics to the six to eight year olds.

The full day clinics continue to begin with Coach educators seminars where persons from the commun
ity chosen by the respective FA’s are taught the methods of teaching the age groups. The seminars, led by JFF Grassroots Coordinator, Andre Virtue begin at 10:00 am and the clinics with the kids at 1:30pm.

Sponsor Digicel announced that distribution of a football to every child involved in the clinics for Year 3 will begin in January. This is expected to impact two thousand children.
