Match day four of the Red Stripe Premier League playoffs, which is now underway to determine the two teams that will be promoted to top flight football, could see Reno FC and Barbican FC claiming pole position today.

Reno who has two wins from three matches leads the four team playoff on six points, on goal difference only, ahead of KSAFA representative Barbican who also has two wins from three games.

Reno will play bottom of the table Axum and a win for them would virtually guarantee promotion while killing off the chances of the St. Mary based team that has managed only a single point so far. A win for Reno will take them to nine points and a single point from the remaining two games should prove enough after that.

Axum will be all too aware that nine points from their three remaining games is a must. This will prove a tall order for a team that has failed to ignite in front of goal during these playoffs.

Barbican is in a pretty similar position as the group leaders Reno and will be seeking to avenge the opening day loss they suffered at the hands of Jamalco FC.  A win for the Denton Shedden coached team would give them a vital cushion with their two final games on the road. Should Jamalco spring another surprise, it would throw the race wide open in this critical race for top level football.

Shaquille Davis has scored in both home games so far for Barbican and will be looking to get among the goals again today. He has worked tirelessly for his team in the playoffs which has helped them to come from behind wins in both of their games. Jamalco must shut him down today if they are to remain alive in the playoffs.
