A day after being sacked as head coach of the UWI Women’s football team, legendary female football coach Dwayne Richards has been snapped up by Boys Town to head up their women’s programme.

The club which has never been part of the national women’s league set-up, despite its long history in Jamaican football, will be entering the Sherwin Williams/JFF Women’s Football League for the very first time.

“When we heard of the availability of Richards we jumped at the chance to get him,” Andrew Price of Boys Town said.

“We have been trying to establish a programme for some time now, but finding the right person to head it up has been a challenge. In Richards we see someone who can deliver exactly what we need.”

The details of the agreement are yet to be ironed out but both parties feel that it will be done in short order.
