Sagicor pleased with UWI Guild Champions League 2013 ahead of finals

The Sagicor UWI Guild Champions League has served up an number of surprises, none more that the Roosters of Block C Taylor Hall making it all the way to tonight’s final where they will take on another Taylor Hall team in the form of defending champions Block D – Attica.

Most of the games have been close throughout with more than three having gone all the way to penalties.

Now with only the final left to be contested, Alysia White of title sponsors Sagicor could not be more happy with this year’s staging.

Speaking with Yardie Sports, Mrs. White said, “It has been great. I can’t believe how intense it is, the rivalries, the teams, the fans, it has all been amazing.

“We have had more fans than ever coming down to watch these night games which we believe is a great pull for the competition. Some of the surprises during the competition has helped to bring even more fans down and we have seen some talented footballers provide us with really good competition.”

Tonight’s final will be preceded by a celebrity match.
