The second round of the ISSA/LIME Manning Cup competition gets underway at the Constant Spring Mini-Stadium  this afternoon. The second round of the ISSA/LIME Manning Cup competition gets underway at the Constant Spring Mini-Stadium  this afternoon. Group H, which has three of this year’s Walker Cup participants, Jamaica College, Charlie Smith, and Hydel High also has Kingston College and has been aptly dubbed the ‘group of death’.

Hydel will face Charlie Smith at 1:00pm before Jamaica College and Kingston College do battle in what is expected to be an epic encounter. Though teams will play three matches in the round, there is very little room for error as only the winners of each group will advance to the semifinals.

While all three teams have remained active KC will be match rusty and this may affect them, especially early on against a JC team still smarting from a surprise loss to Excelsior in the Walker Cup.

In the day’s first game a confident Charlie Smith who defeated Holy Trinity in the Walker Cup will go up against a Hydel team that was taken apart by St. Georges College 4-0 on Tuesday in the Walker Cup.
