European Giants, Real Madrid had a 1-0 win away over Granada on Sunday. According to Carlo Ancelotti, “the team played well, they were compact and organized.” However, the fans are less than impressed, especially with their rivals, Barcelona scoring big at the start of the season.

Madrid started well, with their usual pace in attack and they had created several chances, nevertheless the Granada’s defense was resolute. In the 10th min, a poorly controlled cross from Ronaldo was set up beautifully for Benzema in front of Goal and he made no mistakes to send the visitors ahead. Ronaldo saw several of his screaming shots rejected by Fernandez as Granada was not in the mood to concede more than one goal.

Granada attacked and had several good spells, however most of those attacks were short lived as Madrid quickly assumed possession and control of their defensive third. The game was not without controversy as Ozil was upset at being subsisted yet again by manager Carlo Ancelotti. He went straight into the changing room to demonstrate his frustration, after having an average game. Close to the end Granada’s Rende was brought down inside the box by the inexperience Casemiro which sparked a huge protest when Javier Estrada Fernandez, the man in charge signaled for a goal kick. Television replays indicate that Rende and Granada might have a case.

Madrid’s next test will be taken at the Estadio Riazor where they will face Deportivo, this Thursday.
