The Italian Serie A started this weekend with a series of matches, which paved the way for an exciting and unpredictable season. The league started off with the Milan Kingpins, AC Milan traveling to the Stadio M. A. Bentegodi to face the newly promoted Verona. With Milan having a wealth of experience in the Serie A, they were expected to be the superior team. The only difficulty was that the beautiful game is not played on paper.

Milan pressured the Verona’s backline with successive attacks. Balotelli came close in the 6th min with a shot just a few meters outside the 18 yard box but Verona’s keeper Bittencourt, was not ready to concede just yet. As Milan kept up the Pressure, a beautiful tru ball from Italian talisman Balotelli, played in Poli who slotted pass Bittencourt in the 14th min to make it 1-0. The inexperienced and underestimated Verona team led by former League Top scorer and super star Luca Toni was in no mood to lose. Toni found himself at the end of corner kick to level the scores in the 30th min. It was clear through-out the game that Verona was going to exploit the air to secure the 3 pts and that they did to good effect. Juventus dominated the game and had numerous chances but was not able to convert. The game ended with a single name on the score card.
