The exciting English Premier League season kicks off on September 12, with six games on Saturday and two games on Monday, but ironically no games on Sunday.
Liverpool will begin their title defence with a home match against newly promoted Leeds United who gained promotion to the top flight after winning the EFL Championship with a whopping 93 points. Leeds will be playing at the highest level since being relegated 2004, while Liverpool winning their first top flight title in 30 years with a mammoth 99 points.
Manchester United and Manchester City will not take part in the opening weekend due to their extended playing time in European competitions. FA Cup champions Arsenal play away to newly promoted Fulham at Craven Cottage, while a new look Chelsea travel to Brighton and Hove Albion at the American Express Community Stadium.
The “Special One”, Jose Mourinho and his Tottenham boys will kick of their 2020/2021 campaign at home to a tricky Everton team managed by serial winner Carlo Ancholotti. Mourinho has a 90% win record on opening day, after playing ten opening day games winning 9 and drawing 1. Pep Guardiola of Manchester City is the only active Premier League manager to have taken charge of more than two match day one fixture and have a 100 percent record.
Manchester United who will be out of action for the opening day weekend has the most opening day points in the history of the Premier League. They have 61 points from 28 games with a win rate of 68%, they mauled Chelsea 4-0 in their last opening day fixture.
This season promises to be another pulsating one, with all 20 teams capable of creating an upset on any given day. This season may jolly well go all the way to the final day for conclusion.

The curtain raiser of the English Premier League (Community Shield) will be played a week before the EPL kick off. Premier League champions Liverpool will take on FA Cup winners Arsenal in the 2020 FA Community Shield.
It will be held at Wembley on Saturday, August 29 and will kick-off at 4:30pm. It has been reported that the match could serve as a test event to welcome a restricted number of supporters into Wembley as part of plans for supporters to make a socially distanced return to sports venues more widely from October 1. The increased safety measures from the government in late July may mean fans will not be able to attend. The match will be immediately followed by an international break from September 2 to 10.
