Wolmers’ Boys school dominance of Group F of the ISSA/FLOW Manning Cup continued on Wednesday when they got the better of Camperdown High 4-1 at Heroes Circle to remain perfect from eight starts this season.

First half goals from Alphanso Gooden, Rivaldo English and Yannick Elliott gave the Vassel Reynolds coached team a comfortable three goal lead despite rain spoiling the contest as the heavens opened up and flooded the field shortly before the interval.

Wolmers’ got off to a flying start with Gooden signalling his intentions early with a quick turn and shot inside the area but Camperdown goalkeeper, Prince-Oniel Smith was equal to the task at his near post.

Smith could do nothing to stop Gooden two minutes later, when the Wolmers’ striker smartly put away a penalty in the 11th minute. The well struck spot kick was placed into the bottom right hand corner beating Smith’s best diving efforts.

English should have doubled his team’s lead six minutes later when he benefitted from a free header at the back post, but Smith was able to parry to safety for Camperdown.

Camperdown was barely able to string three passes together and each turnover led to another threatening Wolmer’s counter attack.

Midway the half Mickel Graham produced a mazy dribble across the face of goal, gliding by two Camperdown defenders before unleashing a rocket of a shot that went just over the top of the crossbar.

English eventually double his team’s lead when he reacted quickest to a short corner and was able to hook his effort home, after arriving unmarked at the near post.

The heavens opened up shortly after but the hosts were in no mood to be neighbourly and Elliott rammed home to make it 3-0 shortly before the half time break.

Camperdown pulled a goal back in the second half but thier joy was short lived as Andre Daley scored for Wolmers’ to restore the three goal cushion. It was the second time that Wolmers’ was defeating Camperdown this season, having tagged them 3-0 earlier in the found.
