Kingston College continued to dominate Group G of the ISSA/FLOW Manning Cup competition, as they pummeled Papine High 9-0 at the Stadium East Field on Wednesday to return to their goal scoring frenzy that has highlighted the performances of the North Street based team.

KC opened the scoring as early as the 8th minute, when the skillful Trayvone Reid dismissed two Papine defenders and fed the ball to Omar Thompson, who stayed composed to guide the ball in the net passed the helpless Chevaughn Cooper.

Renato Campbell doubled the score in the 10th minute, rifling a 35 yard shot that caught the right toe of Romario Riley and flew into the back of the net.

Two minutes later Reid provided another chance, this time for Rashawn Mackison who clinically placed the ball in the left bottom of the goal to leave Chevaughn Cooper a mere spectator.

KC continued to dominate possession as Papine turn over the ball on a regular basis. The North Street Boys looked dangerous on each attack as their supporters called for more goals.

Mackison doubled his tally in the 38th minute after Omar Thompson wisely left a ball at the top of the 18 yard box which Mackison caressed with his right foot leaving the custodian with no chance and KC leading 4-0.

The rains began just before the half time break but it did not affect play. Fabian Grant’s magisterial free kick from just outside the 18 yard box flew in the top left hand corner of the goal as the referee signaled for the break.

At the resumption the purple and white clad team maintained possession of the ball and the Papine team could not stop the free flowing football of the Ludlow Bernard coached team.

Grant doubled his tally in 55th minute and took the score to 6-0 when his head kissed a right sided cross from Trey Bennett that found the back of the net

Five minutes later Mackison registered his fourth hat trick of the season when he converted from the penalty spot. Bernard made all five changes available, that still did not deter free flowing football of the team.

Ronaldo Alridge had Papine’s best chance of the game when he found himself with only the goalkeeper to beat but fired his shot straight down the throat of the goalkeeper.

Mackison was not anywhere near finished scoring for the afternoon and he dismissed Romario Riley inside the box before literally passing the ball into the net in the 70th minute to make it 8-0.

With five minutes left in the game, Riley was given marching orders leaving the struggling Papine team trailing by eight goals and a man down.

Mikhail Lumsden worked his way passed a Papine defender before scoring the North Street Boys glorious ninth goal.

“I am very pleased with how the team played today, regardless of the changes made. I am now starting to believe that there is light at the end of the tunnel,” said Kingston College coach Ludlow Bernard.

Kingston College will next play away to Ascot High on Friday. The Purples beat Ascot 13-1 in the corresponding fixture earlier this season
