Jamaica will tackle Group B leaders Costa Rica in an epic battle at the National Stadium tonight at 7:00pm, as their Road to Russia journey continues. Costa Rica has six points after two games, which includes a crucial 2-1 win over Panama in Panama City. Jamaica lost to Panama in their opening encounter at ‘The Office’, but managed to bounce back to winning ways in their away fixture to Haiti.

Oscar Ramírez’s men were able to break through Panama’s defense in the 66th minute with a goal from team captain Bryan Ruiz. Costa Rica striker Marco Ureña doubled the lead just three minutes later, but Los Canaleros forward Luis Tejada was able to score what eventually turned out to be a consolation goal at the 71st minute.

The former Fulham man, Ruiz, will lead the charges of the Los Ticos. The striker who now plies his trade in Portugal was responsible for one of the goals scored against Panama, while Marco Ureña netted the other. Arsenal unfavored Joel Campbell and Ureña will likely be the ones leading the charge for the visiting side. If Campbell should get his way it can be a nightmare for central defenders, EPL leaders, Leicester City captain Wes Morgan and Chelsea loanee Micheal Hector.

The Reggae Boyz enter the match with their only goal coming against Haiti. Philadelphia Union goalkeeper Andre Blake is expected to start for Jamaica, while 32-year-old Clayton Donaldson who scored against Haiti will likely get the nod to be the main striker up front.

The 32 year old Nottingham born defender Morgan, has played a major role for his team in leadership, tackling and his sheer physical presence. The first Caribbean International to win a Premier League title is Dwight Yorke with Manchester United back in their treble winning year 1999. If Leicester City wins the title, not only will Wes Morgan be the second Caribbean player to win a title at that level but the first Jamaican to captain a winning premier league team. The ‘Reggae Boys’ are oiled and ready to serve up a treat to the home fans. Let’s hope the Campbell and his troop doesn’t spoil the party.

Possible Jamaica starting lineup (4-4-2 formation): Blake; Mariappa, Phillips, Morgan, Lawrence; Powell, Hector; Williamson, McAnuff, Watson; Donaldson

Possible Costa Rica starting lineup (4-3-3 formation): Pemberton; Gamboa, Gonzalez, Waston, Acosta; Matarrita, Azofeifa, Granados; Ruiz, Ureña, Campbell
