Things are shaping up pretty well for a few teams, especially those in the top half of the table while things are getting uncomfortable for the teams in the bottom third of the table as we head to round 20 of the Red Stripe Premier League on Sunday 10th, January 2016.
In one of the early games Boys Town FC will be aiming to take maximum points at the expense of Waterhouse FC, when the two battle at the Barbican Stadium in a 3:00 kick off.
Boys Town sit comfortably in 6th position on 25 points and have picked up 8 points from maximum 15 from their last five games. Coach Andrew Price told Yardie Sports a few weeks ago, that his ambitions is to finish in the top four this season with his major concern being getting back the core of his team fit and ready. Thus far captain Micheal ‘Bangy’ Campbell and Xavion Virgo are back in the starting line up but they are not as sharp as he would like.
Boys Town talisman Rafiek Thomas failed to hit the mark in his last game and he wasn’t able to register a single shot on target in the 90 minutes he played in a 3-0 loss to Cavilier SC last Sunday. If there is any positive to build on heading into this encounter for Boys Town is the fact that they came away 1-0 winners in the last encounter at Drewsland.
Boys Town, playing a 4-3-2-1 formation is not short on chances created with a midfield trio of Peter Keys, Micheal Campbell and Adrian King but the strikers leading the attack, Shamar Nicholas and Thomas need too convert their chances.
Waterhouse FC is not short on drama, since the departure of former manager Ricky Chin things are not the same. They have since used two former coaches Calvert Fitzgerald and Anthony Patrick but both have failed miserably. Former national player Paul Young has been thrown into the hot seat and is expected to restore some form and to get them back to winning ways.
Nick Priest hit single ‘age is just a number’ went number one in the States for a number of weeks. If age is just a number then Waterhouse might just get who they need to lift the team spirit and morale to get them back on winning ways. Kevin ‘King’ Lamey is set to make a return after a long absence and is hoping to put a smile on the fans faces again. Hughan Gray is back after a brief stint overseas is expected to boost the team confidence and attacking flair.
Waterhouse is rooted at the bottom of the 12 teams table on 15 points from 19 games their lowest tally over the past five years. Waterhouse has never been relegated since entering top flight in 1968, though the name has changed since. Defensively they have been very shakey and offensively they are not getting the goals they need.
Marksman Jermaine ‘Tuffy’ Anderson who usually scores the bulk of Waterhouse’s goals has only manage to score 3 times this season and has spent a significant amount of time on the bench. Wherever the goals are to come from they will need them for Sunday. They went down 2-1 at home to their bitter rivals Arnett Gardens to begin 2016 but they will hope to turn things around quickly if they are to save themselves from relegation. Spectators should be out in their numbers to watch this spectacle.
