Another West Indiies player in Sunil Narine, has been reported for bowling with a suspect action during the final ODI against Sri Lanka in Pallekele.

Narine’s action had in the past been questioned during domestic competitions, such as the Indian Premier League, but this was the first time he has been reported in an international match.

Narine ended with match figures of 0 for 24 in the.match, in which his team went down by 19 runs based on the Duckworth-Lewis method. The match officials’ report, handed to the West Indies team management after the game, cited concerns about the legality of Narine’s deliveries.

An ICC statement said Narine, who pulled out of the World Cup earlier this year to work on his action, will be allowed to play on till the results of the tests are declared.

This has been the second such causality of the West Indies, following the reporting of the standing captain, Marlon Samuels in the second ODI.

Samuels has been provisionally suspended from international bowling until a ruling is made, having missed the 14 days period of action testing.

Narine will need to undergo testing on his action within allotted days, and will be permitted to continue bowling until the results of his testing are known.

The Sri Lanka tour was Narine’s first international tournament since August 2014.

The West Indies has been having an unfruitful tour, slumping to defeats in every match played thus far, both in the Test and ODI matches.
