Holy Trinity footballer Jordan Foote diagnosed with cancer

When the Holy Trinity players took to the field on Monday for their first game of the second round of the ISSA/FLOW Manning Cup, they did so with a heavy heart and with pink ribbons worn on their sleeves in solidarity with their teammate Jordan Foote.

Foote was diagnosed with cancer in his foot after seeing the doctor for an injury he got while on camp with the Holy Trinity manning cup team two months ago.

The 17 year old fifth form student /athlete was hospitalized on Sunday after the illness took a toll on his body.

Holy Trinity coach Devon Anderson explained to Yardie Sports what has been happening.

“After the STETHS Cup pre-season football tournament he picked up and injury and we took him to the doctor to have it treated. That is when we discovered that he has a form of bone cancer. He is a brave boy and has been trying to stay strong but on Sunday it took him badly and he had to be taken to the hospital. We are in need of help to get surgery done for him. It is a sad situation but the boys are playing for him. They have promised to play each game for him for the rest of the season.”

Foote who is a very talented young player was very influential in central midfield for Holy Trinity last season, helping his school to reach the Flow Super Cup final.

Surgery is required on his foot urgently that will cost in the range of $700,000 to $800,000. The illness has stopped the young man from attending school.
