A hat-trick from Jermaine “Tuffy” Anderson and a brace from Romario “Rom Rom” Campbell helped Waterhouse ease past a hapless Boys Town 5-1 on Sunday at the Waterhouse Mini-Stadium in the penultimate set of games in the regular season of the Red Stripe Premier League.

It was Waterhouse’s first game since missing out on the CFU Championships and they made the visitors pay for their frustrations on not being able to play in that tournament.

Waterhouse could have been ahead from as early as the 4th minute but Anderson missed a free header from the edge of the 6 yard box from a Hughan Gray corner kick.

Four minutes later, Anderson made no mistake when he slotted past the advancing Leon Goffe in the Boys Town goal after running unto a brilliant pass from Campbell.

Waterhouse controlled the game without creating too many chances before Campbell go his first and his team’s second in the 31st minute. The player picked himself up after being fouled to curl a left footed free kick into the corner of the net from the edge of the area.

The home team took their foot off the pedal and allowed Boys Town back into the game who took full advantage Peter Keyes headed home from close range to make it 2-1 two minutes before the break.

Anderson restored his team’s two goal advantage just five minutes after the interval when he received a pass from Damarley Samuels before rounding a defender and firing through the legs of Goffe.

Rafiek Thomas had two chances in two minutes to score for Boys Town but was unable to beat Richard McCallum on either occasion.

Boys Town was reduced to 10 men in the 60th minute when Garfield Gillespie was shown a straight red card for dangerous play.

The game became easier for Waterhouse and Campbell made it 4-1 when he scored his second free kick of the afternoon, a stunner that left Goffe rooted to the spot in the 68th minute.

Anderson completed his hat-trick and the game’s scoring in the 79th minute when he held off the challenge of Victor Thompson before firing past Goffe to take his season’s tally to 18, two behind league leader Craig Foster who has 20.

The game was little more than a training exercise for last year’s beaten finalists while Boys Town played as though they were already on vacation.

Wining coach Anthony Patrick was pleased with the winning margin.

“We want to finish on a high. This was a good win for us today and I am pleased with the number of goals we got,” he said.

Hat-trick hero Anderson said he told his teammates he would get three goals in the game.

“I told all my teammates that today I am getting a hat-trick and it really worked. I am looking forward to playing against Rivoli and getting more goals before the semi-finals.”

Waterhouse cemented their second place position in the league while champions Montego Bay United locked up third position when they came from behind to secure a 2-2 draw with Humble Lion at Wespow Park.

In other games, Barbican condemned Reno to relegation when they played out an amazing 4-4 draw at the Barbican field. Both teams were promoted this season and will be relegated after just one season of top flight football. Arnett Gardens beat Cavalier 5-2 at the Stadium East Field while Sporting Central and Rivoli United played out a 0-0 draw which ensured that Sporting Central remained in the premier league.

Meanwhile, Harbour View ensured that the fourth semi-final spot will not be decided until the final day when they edged Tivoli Gardens 1-0 at the Harbour View Mini-Stadium courtesy of a Ranique Muir strike in the 77th minute.
