Arnett Gardens will top the standings

Arnett Gardens sitting comfortable at the summit and are in poll position of winning this year’s Red Stripe Premier League title. They have the best away form accumulating 29 points from a possible 48, winning 9, drawing 2, and losing 5. They also boast the best home form with an impressive 34 points from 15 games (P-15 W-10 D-4 L-1).

Arnett’s next assignment is Cavalier SC at Stadium East. Cavalier’s away form is much better than their home form. They are the only team to have beaten Arnett at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex and in their last fixture at home against Arnett at the Stadium East field they lost 1-0. With Arnett achieving most of their objectives already, one would suspect for the last two games they will feature more of the young players and rest the nucleus of the team to keep them fit and to prevent injuries for the semi finals. It is quite likely that Arnett will win away to Cavaliers and lose at home to Harbour in their final game, leaving them on 66 points from 33 games.

Waterhouse FC will finish second!!!!!

Waterhouse have been going through some mixed emotions both on the pitch and in the locker room. Despite the speculations and rumors that surrounds the club’s players and management staff they are still strong favorites to be crowned champions. Waterhouse will play at home to Boys Town in their next outing. Watehouse is the league’s third best team at home with a record of (P-16 W-9 D-3 L-4). However, they have failed two beat Boys Town in their last two encounter drawing both games home and away nil all. With the discombobulated Rivoli to play away in their final game, Waterhouse are expect to get maximum six points from their last two games. Being second in the table with away form of (P-15 W-7 D-3 L-5) they would want to get all six points to ensure they meet Humble Lion in the semi finals (if they fish third) counting on the fact that they have had the better of them on all occasions this season. 60 points from 33 games is enough for Waterhouse to finish second.

Where will Humble Lion finish the season????

Humble Lion is currently sitting 4th on 49 points on the tables with a record of (P-31 W-14 D-7 L-10). Humble Lion’s next assignment is Montego Bay United in Montego Bay. This will be a tricky encounter and a defining moment for either team if they want to stay in the top four. Mobay have the second best home record in the league (P-16 W-10 D-4 L-2). Only Tivoli Gardens and Cavalier were able to get maximum points in Mobay. However, since the charismatic and witty Donavan Duckie took over the team they have been playing some entertaining football that is very pleasing to the eyes. With this in mind one can expect an upset on the day. More so, Humble Lion are going in on a high from the back end of a 4-0 win over relegated Barbican, while Mobay licking their wounds after a devastating 1-2 loss to Cavalier. Humble Lion will play their last game at home to Cavalier which they hope to get all three points from to finish the season on 55 points from 33 games.

The saga continues

Montego Bay United has placed themselves in a situation where it is quite difficult to be left out of the top four. However, all football enthusiasts know how cruel this sport can be and once there is even a mathematical chance of a team achieving something it can happen. Mobay United have a very good home record (P-16 W-10 D-4 L-2) which means 34 of the 52 points accumulated from 31 games were collected at home. Only Tivoli Gardens and Cavaliers have manage to leave Wespow Park with maximum points. Mobay is the second best defensive team in the league conceding only 23 goals and the fourth best attacking team with a plus 17 goals difference. Mobay United’s next opponent is Humble Lions who is on the hunt for a spot in the top four too and will be bringing their A game to make this a reality. However, the last encounter between these two teams at the Wespow Park venue saw Humble Lion going home empty handed after a 2-0 defeat. With only a draw needed to secure a final four spot it will take something special from Humble Lion to stall Mobay United’s progress.

Mathematical but possible

Harbour View FC have had a torrid season, from changing coaching staff, to a 7-2 mauling from Waterhouse FC, one wonders how much worse it can get for the ‘Stars of the East’. Harbour view lies fifth in the standings on 46 points, 3 behind fourth place Humble Lions and are very much still in with a very good chance of a semi finals berth. One cannot write them off because they have quality players, players that have won titles previously with the club and a coaching staff that knows how to win titles. Once they are given a sniff of the titles they will go at it full blast. Playing at home to Tivoli Gardens in their next fixture will determine their fate. Harbour View currently 6th best team at home (P-16 W-8 D-3 L-5) will be looking for all three points from Tivoli Gardens who have maintained their place in top flight for next season and might just field some of their juniors. In the last encounter at the compound, Harbour View won that game1-0 and are hoping for a repeat which will keep their semi finals hopes alive, with obviously the other results favouring them.
