Harbour Views looks to take season sweep over Waterhouse

Waterhouse and Harbour View will face off in the latest Monday Night fixture in the Red Stripe Premier League at Drewsland starting at 8:30 and both teams will be under pressure to secure all three points having lost their last two completed fixtures.

Waterhouse, who once led the league, are now in third place on 41 points and are looking over their shoulders at a resurgent Humble Lion team that made the most of the second round to put themselves in contention for a place in the semi-finals.

The pressure will be on the home team tonight, from a fan base that appreciates good football and always wants to see their team win, especially at home.

Injury concerns about Oshane Roberts who was hurt in their last Monday Night feature a week ago, plus the loss of their influential center back Rohan Amos, who is out due to suspension means Anthony Patrick will have to rotate his squad.

After going down to a one nil defeat away to Arnett Gardens on Thursday and looking forward to the Jackie Bell Knockout final this Thursday, Waterhouse will be craving a victory to bring back the good feelings to the club.

Juvaune Benjamin, Evan Taylor, Hughan Gray, and Romario Campbell are all expected to fire up Waterhouse tonight.

A place in the top four is not guaranteed to any team and it is such of a prize position now and all top 8 teams have a chance of getting there.

Patrick has deployed a 4-4-2 formation with Romario Campbell out wide left and Hughan Gray wide right but this style and play proved unsuccessful as they were beaten twice by a similar margin by Tivoli Gardens and Arnett Gardens respectively in their last two games.

Playing a 4-3-3 with a diamond attack with Romario Campbell playing in the hole just behind Benjamin and Anderson with Gray right Stewart left and Taylor holding may be a better option.

It will be interesting to see how Firehouse copes with the demand of so many games, in quick succession with limited recovery time. With a cup insight on Thursday, let us see if they can rouse themselves for this one.

The Stars of the East meanwhile, have only the Premier League to concentrate on and will be looking for a repeat of last year’s incredible 2-1 win at Drewsland. They have beaten Firehouse two times so far this season, but haven’t won a game since the first week in January.

Andrew Hines’s men will be looking to put an end to their current run of 5 games without a win. Since the start of the Red Stripe Premier League Harbour View FC has gotten the better of Waterhouse beaten them 2-0 at the Compound and 1-2 at Drewsland. However, Harbour View will have to dig deeper for these three points this time around.

Harbour View’s last win came in the league came against Sporting Central Academy and they were on their way to yet another win over those same opponents on Thursday before a power outage brought a premature end to that encounter. Sitting in 6th position with a game in hand, anything less than 3 points would be an under achievement for them.

For them to complete the treble of wins over Waterhouse this season, Nicholas Beckett, Mckaully Tulloch and Ranique Muir must come up with their A game to produce the goods. John-Ross Edwards also needs to see much more of the ball for the Stars of the East in this crucial encounter.
