Arnett Gardens remained the only team to have a 100% win record in the second round of the Red Stripe Premier League when they scored their first win over Waterhouse at Drewsland in almost four years on Monday Night and now Mobay is in their crosshairs.

Playing in the last game of the 2014 calendar year, the red hot Arnett came from behind to score and impressive 3-1 win over the former league leaders, proving that their second round form is no fluke.

Now Strickland has a warning for the league leaders and defending champions Montego Bay United.

“We are aiming to pass Mobay. After each game we work on our weaknesses so we can get even better. That is the difference this season and it is paying off.”

A win in the final game of the first round plus five second round wins on the trot makes the Jerome Waite coached outfit the inform team in the league and they are looking unbeatable at the moment. Two of the second round wins have come against top four opponents, which makes their performances at the moment all the more impressive.

In form striker Leon Strickland, who has scored five goals during this period including a brace against Tivoli Gardens and another on Monday night, believes that experience is a contributing factor to the team’s progress.

“In the first round our form was good at the start, but we didn’t maintain it because at the time it was the younger players that was getting the job done. This time around it has been the experienced players that have been mainly responsible along with some of the younger players,” he said.

The purple patch that Strickland is in at the moment has come with some great goals and the second he scored against Waterhouse, a curing shot with the outside of the foot, had the former National goalkeeper Richard McCallum clutching at air as is rocketed into the roof of the net.

As impressive as that strike was Strickland says his goal against Rivoli United has been his best so far this season.

With the hard work set to continue down in the “Jungle”, few would bet against the run of the “Red and Black” continuing in the New Year which will surely push the champions, who have the second best record in this round and lead only by goal difference, as both teams at the summit have 32 points.
