Former Manchester United and Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez is set to snub a contract extension with Serie A champions Juventus. The 30 year old Argentinian has been in red hot form since his move to Italy but will not be staying in Turin beyond the summer of 2016.

Carlitos has made no secret of his desire to return to Argentina and finish his career there and it seems like he is following his dream to retire in his homeland. There have been reports of Juve’s willingness to extend his contract but Tevez told reporters at the Buenos Aires Airport that he will not be signing a new deal.

He stated: ‘I want to respect my contract until 2016, that’s my plan. I don’t want to extend, that’s not how I feel at the moment.’

Carlitos was asked if he fancied a return to Boca Juniors but never wanted to start any speculation. He replied: ‘It’s too hard to say right now. I’m playing at a high level so it’s important to be calm and enjoy being in the moment. Constant speculation would drive me crazy.’

Tevez has been troublesome in the past, refusing to play for Manchester City and jetting off to Argentina and was fined for his actions. He had a stand-off with Roberto Mancini who had vowed the striker would not play for Manchester City again as long as he was in charge before reversing the decision as City went on to win the league.

Tevez scored 19 Serie A goals last season for Juventus and has already notched 10 so far this season. He has been the Old Lady’s main man since his move to Turin but despite his prolific form, he missed out on a place in Argentina’s 2014 World Cup squad. He won’t be short of suitors if his form continues but he may prefer a move back to Argentina should he leave Juventus in 2016.
