With mirror image results in their last four games, if not in the same order, Harbour View FC and Red Stripe Premier League leaders Waterhouse FC meet today in a top four clash at the Harbour View Mini-Stadium at 7:00pm looking to get the best of each other.

Two draws, a loss and one win in their last four games each, has seen Harbour View slip from second to fourth while the cushion that Waterhouse had at the top has been whittled away to just 2 points.

Harbour View stole all three points in a 2-1 win at Drewsland in round one and will be looking to get all three at the ‘Compound’ today as they look to head back in the right direction. Ranique Muir leads the scoring for his club having bagged seven already this season and will be hoping to hit the back of the net again today, having gotten the equalizer for the Stars of the East back in October.

Jermaine Anderson has six goals for Waterhouse and with strike partner Juvaune Benjamin bagging a brace in the Jackie Bell KO on Thursday, a lot will be expected of those two as the leaders push to remain top at Christmas. Benjamin says he is “feeling good” about the game and is confident he can be among the goals today.

Defending champions Montego Bay United has put their poor start to the season completely behind them and with 10 points from a maximum 12 in their last four games is currently the second best team on form in the league.
Sitting in second place on 26 points, they will be looking to keep the pressure on leaders Waterhouse who are on 28 as well as their opponents today, fifth place Cavalier SC.

Allan Ottey with seven goals and strike partner Dino Williams with four, form a deadly strike force of power and pace and will put a lot of pressure on the Cavalier defence.

Cavalier may feel that they can hold off the strikers of the league’s second place team but their troubles lie up front. They have conceded only 8 goals so far, tied with Waterhouse for the best defensive record, but the eleven goals they have amassed to date represents the poorest return in front of goal in the top six. Only second from bottom Humble Lion has a worse record in front of goal with 10 in their 14 games. Game time is 3:00pm.

Striker Claudius Blackburn is woefully short of form, missing a penalty against Barbican on Monday night before missing an even easier chance from three yards.

Technical Director Rudolph Speid must be wondering where the goals will come from if his team is to remain in contention for a top four finish.

The other top four team, Arnett Gardens, is currently the form team in the league. Beginning the second round the same as they began the first, the Jerome Waite coached team has racked up four wins on the trot following the precipitous slide from grace toward the end of the first round.

The ‘Junglists’ are third, tied on 26 points with second place Mobay United who lead them on goal difference. Andrew Phang and Leon Strickland have caught fire just in time to push their team towards the top as the year comes to a close. Marvin Morgan returned from injury to score and veteran Kevin Wilson has made good contributions coming off the bench in recent games.

Reno FC was in free fall after winning the FLOW Champions Cup but put an end to the string of defeats, when they secured a last minute equalizer against Harbour View in a 2-2 draw last weekend. Sitting in 9th place on 15 points, the team from the west face a daunting task to get a result at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex in the live Monday Night game tomorrow.
