Flemmings still on course to capture four titles for JC

At the start of the schoolboy football season, Jamaica College (JC) captain and last year’s Manning Cup most valuable player, Junior Flemmings made a vow to be the first person to captain a schoolboy football team to four titles in one season.

The addition of the LIME Super Cup to the football landscape means that there are now four possible trophies up for grabs in a season.

With JC already into the finals of the urban area knock out final, the Walker Cup, while booking their passage to the semi-finals of the Manning Cup, they will now turn their attention to the final of the LIME Super Cup to be played on Saturday at Sabina Park.

Flemmings spoke with Yardie Sports after the semi-finals of the Super Cup and said, “It’s a lot of work, the games are very rough, a lot of teams are coming hard for Jamaica College to beat us, so we just have to hold our own and give it our all.

“We just have to give it 120% – our performance was magnificent, we kept the record straight against STETHS, they have never beaten Jamaica College and that’s what we wanted to maintain,” he continued.
The former Jamaica national under 17 captain was in a confident mood when asked about his team’s chances the final.

“We are now into the LIME Super Cup final. We want to give it our all to win this and to say that Jamaica College has been the first team ever to have won the LIME Super Cup. No team is going to come easy, so we know we will have to work hard to lift the title but we are ready to do that.”

The final will is set to start at 4:00pm following a pre-game show at 3:00pm courtesy of sponsors LIME.
