Massive clash between Waterhouse and Harbour View at Drewsland in RSPL

A mouthwatering clash looms at Drewsland today when Waterhouse FC, who are second in the Red Stripe Premier League on 16 points host Harbour View FC who sit third, tied on 11 points with three other teams. The rescheduled game is one of two games that Waterhouse has in hand.

Waterhouse is the only remaining unbeaten team in the league after leaders Cavalier was beaten 2-1 by Tivoli Gardens on Monday night. They will be looking to claim all three points at home to go top of the league for the first time this season.

Now trailing Cavalier by a single point, following the weekend’s round of matches, the Anthony Patrick coached team will need no more motivation than sitting top of the pile while the competition breaks this weekend to facilitate the FLOW Champions Cup.

The nation’s most consistent top flight team in 2014 will be looking to stamp their class in the 2014-15 season and with the consistency carrying over from last season, confidence at the club will be very high.

Harbour View who had a relatively slow start to the season has been steadily climbing up the tables and boosted by back to back wins now sit third. They will be looking for a win to steal a march on Reno FC, Arnett Gardens FC and Tivoli Gardens FC as they are all tied on 11 points.

Both Waterhouse and Harbour View have scored 11 goals so far this season, but Harbour View has conceded seven times compared to three for Waterhouse, who has managed to keep four clean sheets from the six games they have played so far.

Keeping clean sheets has been a problem for Harbour View this term and in a game that is expected to be very close, the Stars of the East can ill-afford to be sloppy in defence. John-Ross Edwards and Beckett will have to do a better job of protecting the back four.

Waterhouse talisman Jermaine “Tuffy” Anderson led the way for his team on Sunday with a brace in the 3-2 win over Rivoli United at the Prison Oval, with strike partner Juvaune Benjamin getting the other. They will be looking to trouble the Harbour View defence from the first whistle.

Captain Damarley Samuels will be looking for a belated birthday present with three points in his team’s first home game of the season. “I am feeling good,” he told Yardie Sports. “It is our first home game and we are looking for all three points as a gift to our loyal fans who have waited a long time to see us play at home this season.”

“First our field wasn’t ready, then we had a number of games rescheduled due to the Chik-V virus, so now we finally get to play at home for the first time this season,” he explained.

Harbour View boasts a powerful forward line themselves, with Mckaully Tulloch, Ranique Muir and Jermie Lynch all finding their scoring boots in recent times.

Both teams play attacking football with Patrick and Andrew Hines both favouring the 4-3-3 formation.
The teams may just cancel each other out and a moment of magic or great mental strength may be the difference between both teams in what promises to be a very intriguing encounter.
