Zone A leaders in the Sherwin Williams Women’s Football League, Los Perfectos will come face to face with second place GC Foster College today with both teams desperate to claim a spot in the mid-season finals scheduled for next weekend. The teams are separated by a goal difference of +1 only. Los Perfectos has scored 28 goals while conceding three, whie their opponents have scored 24 and are yet to concede this season.

Los Perfectos has been particularly ruthless at home, scoring 20 goals in their three games at Brooks Park and will be hoping that the comforts of home will make the difference against what will be their toughest opponents to date. They will be looking to the likes of Roheema Bennett for their goals against the only team to maintain a clean sheet in every game so far this season.

The Kurt Brooks led GC Foster College, lost the mid-season final against Barbican last year and are anxious to return to go one better this time around. The return of their national representatives to the squad helped them to a massive 9-0 whipping of Real Morant Strikers at the York Complex last match day and they will be buzzing today. With so much at stake fans can expect an instant classic as both teams seek to prove, who is the best in Zone B.

Another interesting game on today is the match-up between Boys Town Wildcats and UWI Women’s FC. Neither team is in contention for a spot in the mid-season final but what makes the game intriguing is that this will be the first time that Wildcats head coach Dwayne Richards, will come face to face with his old team, the UWI WFC, after leaving the club under acrimonious circumstances. Both teams will be looking for a win to claim bragging rights, so that, more than anything else should make this game a must see.

The UWI have welcomed back two Jamaican internationals, Sherona “Claro” Forrester and new signing Jodi-Ann McGregor and should have enough fire power to see off a Wildcats team second from bottom in the zone with just one point. The UWI are looking to add to their current 9 points haul but the hosts will be looking to pull off a shocker and move up to 4 points today.

The other game in the zone will see struggling Harbour View host bottom of the table Real Morant Strikers at the Harbour View Mini-Stadium. The former champions will be looking for a confidence booster heading into the mid-season break. Real Morant who have scored just two goals while conceding all of 20 will need to put in a sterling defensive performance to get anything from this game.

New team, St. James Women’s Academy, has already played their full allotment of games and sit in mid-table with a respectable 7 points.

All games begin at 3:30pm
