Los Perfectos are in no mood to let anything slip and they showed just how much they mean business as they continued their fine scoring record in the Sherwin Williams Women’s Football league. On Thursday they thrashed the visiting Real Morant Strikers 7-0 to maintain their average of six goals per game.

Led by a Shenika Williams hat-trick and a Shantel Thompson brace along with one each from Rohema Bennett and Remona Hyde, the Manchester based team continued to maintain their lead in Zone B, on goal difference, in a keen race for a spot in the end of round finals.

GC Foster College, the main rivals of Los Perfectos in the zone at the moment, maintained their winning record with a 3-0 win over former champions Harbour View. After a scoreless first half, Monique Pryce who returned from international duty on Wednesday, opened the scoring for her team in the 57th minute, before Roberta Jackson provide the killer blow two minutes from time. Roxine Salmon put the icing on the cake in the final minute as last year’s beaten finalists remained hot on the heels of the zone leaders.

Over in St. James, in the battle of the newcomers, St. James Women’s Academy edged a keen contest, winning 2-1 over Boys Town Wildcats, to claim their second win of the campaign. The visitors struck first in the 12th minute when Britney Lovelock got her first goal of the campaign, but before the Wildcats were done celebrating Janae Elliot grabbed the equalizer just a minute later. Elliot got the winner in the 29th minute as rain made the field slippery and difficult to play on in the second half.
