Waterhouse FC will look to take advantage of the absence of defending champions Barbican FC, to take an early lead in Group A of the Sherwin Williams Women’s Football League today. The Drewsland based team will travel to newcomers Rangers FC, who were hammered 10-0 by the champions on Saturday.

Waterhouse beat former champions Portmore Strikers 5-0 on the opening day and will be full of confidence when they head to St. Mary Sports Complex today. Barbican will be inactive today so a win for second place Waterhouse should put them in front, at least on goal difference.

Arnett Gardens are third in the zone despite having three points, similar to the top two, because of an inferior goal difference. They will host Olympic Gardens, who will be making their bow into the competition today, at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex. Having travelled to Trelawny and secured three points on match day one, the team from “Jungle” will be looking for win number two, to stay on the coat tails of the top teams in this ultra-competitive zone.

Former Champions Portmore Strikers will host Trelawny Women’s FC at the Racing Oval in a battle of the winless teams. Both teams failed to secure a point on the opening day and will be looking for maximum points today to prevent being cut adrift from early.

Barbican FC will rest today in the seven team zone.

All games begin at 3:30pm.
