Last year’s runners-up in the Sherwin Williams Women’s Football league, GC Foster College, will look to stamp their authority on Group B of the competition when they travel to Jarrett Park to take on unknown entity and newcomers St. James Women’s Football Academy today.

Both teams had contrasting wins on the opening day with GC Foster College easily disposing of newcomers Boys Town Wildcats 5-0, while St. James Women’s (newcomers themselves) surprised Real Morant Strikers 1-0. A win for either team will see them take over sole leadership of the zone, as current group leaders Los Perfectos will be inactive today.

UWI Women’s FC who were stunned 6-1 by Los Perfectos on Saturday, will look to bounce back against Real Morant Strikers who themselves were stunned in their league opener at the weekend. Both teams will be looking for a win to kick-start their season and this is a match that could go either way based on the opening day results.

The other game in the zone, will see the Boys Town Wildcats host former champions Harbour View FC, who make their delayed entry into the competition, having rested on match day one. The “Stars of the East” will be looking to heap more misery on the newcomers at Collie Smith Drive as they try to get in the mix.

For the Wildcats it will be their first home game in the competition, in front of an always expectant home crowd.

All games start at 3:30pm.
