The third round of the playoffs for promotion to the Red Stripe Premier League will be played today. Surprise leaders Jamalco FC will look to maintain their advantage over the chasing pack when they travel to former Premier champions Reno FC, while KSAFA hopefuls Barbican FC will try to capitalise on the mid-week.

The Clarendon based Jamalco FC has four points from two games so far and will be looking to steal a march on their hosts Reno to give themselves a cushion at the midway point of the playoffs. It may be easier said than done however, as Reno is looking to re-establish themselves in Jamaica’s top flight football and will be keen on grabbing all three points at home.

Barbican showed character and grit to recover from being a goal down at home to Reno on Wendesday. Trailing 0-1 at half time and faced with the prospect of being cut adrift early, Barbican came up with two second half goals to clinch all three points and draw themselves back into promotion contention.

The current points standings sees Jamalco on 4 points, Reno and Barbican on 3 and the St. Mary based Axum on 1. Both games kick off at 3:30pm.
