Quest gained sweet revenge on Holy Family, slamming them 3-0 in the semi-finals of the Samsung Cup 2014 at the University of Technology today.

Beaten last year in the ‘Kingston’ final, a determined Quest were all over the champions from the opening whistle and went ahead through this year’s leading scorer Rivaldo Mitchell. Jahiem Rose doubled the Quest score before half time and when Zachary Johnson made it 3-0 midway the second half the writing was on the wall for Holy Family. Tears flowed freely at the sound of the final whistle as the defending champions tournament came to an abrupt end.

In the other semi-final, the two balanced teams could not be separated in regulation time. Mona took a first half lead through the efforts of Seth Clark but McCauley’s Primary drew his team level in the second half to set up a dramatic penalty shootout.

Tied at 4-4 after the mandatory five shots each, it took sudden death to separate the teams, with Mona goalkeeper Zachary Johnson taking the responsibility for his team and calmly slotting home to take his team into the final.

Quest Prep and Mona Prep will face each other in the final at 2:30pm.
