The change in format of the Red Stripe Premier League means that a team can finish fourth after the first three rounds and still win the title. This as the top four teams at the end of the regular league campaign will face-off in a playoff to decide the 2013-2014 champions.

The change in format of the Red Stripe Premier League means that a team can finish fourth after the first three rounds and still win the title. This as the top four teams at the end of the regular league campaign will face-off in a playoff to decide the 2013-2014 champions.

Tivoli Gardens FC will take on league leaders, Waterhouse FC at Drewsland today, clinging to the hope that there is still a chance to sneak into the semi-finals ahead of rivals Arnett Gardens who currently occupy the vital fourth spot.

Currently occupying fifth position, six points behind Arnett Gardens, the Glendon Bailey led aggregation needs to win today and hope for favours along the way. Tivoli’s away form has been better than their home form all season and they will be banking on this to continue, as they hunt three crucial points from the league’s form team.

Keammar ‘Dada’ Daley has been immense for Tivoli all season and will have to be on top form today. Waterhouse are blessed with many weapons and the return of midfield maestro Vincent Earle, has heightened expectations at the club.

Sixth place Cavalier are away to Arnett Gardens and they too have an eye on the coveted fourth spot. Trailing fifth place Tivoli, merely on goal difference, means they too have a chance of getting into the semi-finals at the expense of their opponents today.

The challenge facing both Tivoli Gardens and Cavalier SC is that they take on two teams that have hit peak form as the season is winding down. Both games begin at 6:00pm.

Seventh place Sporting Central host second place Harbour View who have had a coaching change recently. The visitors will be looking to build up a winning momentum ahead of the semi-final round as they seek to defend their title. Kick-off is 3:30pm.

Montego Bay United were outdone by the gritty Waterhouse on Thursday and travel again today to play against a Rivoli United team, battling to avoid relegation. Having slipped from first to third following the loss in midweek, Mobay United will be in no mood to be generous to their opponents despite the fact that they are travelling back to back. That game begins at 4:00pm.

Humble Lion are just one point above the relegation zone and host the cellar dwellers August Town in a game they must win as they fight to avoid the drop. August Town are not yet mathematically relegated and must win today, along with all their remaining games, if they are to avoid being in the premier league for just one season. This battle begins at 6:00pm.

The Monday night game will be between hosts Portmore United and Boys Town.
