They are bottom of the table in the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL), but Davion Alves believes August Town can avoid the drop if the team continues on the current path they are on. The only adjustment currently required is to turn their many draws into wins.

On Sunday March 2nd, Alves came off the bench to earn his team a draw with Tivoli Gardens following  a 77th minute strike. The midfielders powerful low drive past Tivoli custodian Edsel Scott earned his team a 2-2 draw in what was a very engaging contest.

Speaking with Yardie Sports after the game, Alves said, “the goal means a whole lot to me. It is my first goal for the club, so it means a whole lot.”

With the third and final round now underway he feels his team has what it takes to remain in the RSPL.

“The team is getting there. We are well united and we are working very hard to avoid the drop. We just need to start winning games now because we are competing well against all the teams above us.”

Both teams will face each other again this season when they face off in the final of the Jackie Bell Knock Out competition later this month.
