The choice of merging football and entertainment was an easy one to make – they are two aspects of life that unify us as a people and help to bring about healthy and friendly competition between athletes, entertainers and corporate entities alike.

In 1982, the annual Bob Marley One Love Celebrity match was born. The choice of merging football and entertainment was an easy one to make – they are two aspects of life that unify us as a people and help to bring about healthy and friendly competition between athletes, entertainers and corporate entities alike.
This year the event will be held on Ash Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at the Harbour View Mini Stadium commencing at 4:00pm where a Masters & Celebrities Invitational, Referees, Singers Invitational & DJs Invitational will face off in football matches.
The matches will honour Bob Marley and his contributions to music and society as they have since the inception of the event. In addition to honouring the memory of Bob, the proceeds from the staging of this event will go towards the completion of the Malvern Basic School and children’s homes across the island. The event organizer, Clive ‘Busy’ Campbell, has worked closely with basic schools in the past and is very experienced in charity work.
This will be the 32nd staging of the event; a testament not only to the staying power of Bob Marley and his influence, but to Mr. Campbell and the organizing committee of the event. Each year, the event has gotten bigger and received more recognition. This year is no different as there are numerous celebrities who have agreed to be a part of the event this year. Among the list of celebrities who have expressed a desire to participate are Courtney Walsh, Aidonia, Konshens, Chris Martin, Ricardo ‘Bibi’ Gardner, Walter ‘Blacka’ Boyd and Hector Wright.
With Digicel as the main sponsor, the Bob Marley One Love Football Extravaganza will keep patrons, families entertained throughout the entirety of the event with lots of prizes and give aways. In addition to the football matches, members from each team will be participating in track events.
