Quest means business – ready to defend Alberga Cup

Led by a four timer from captain Michael Allen, Quest Prep showed that they mean business when it comes on to defending their Alberga Cup title when they ripped apart St. Catherine Prep 11-0 on the opening day of the competition at the Stadium East field.

The inexperienced St. Catherine team had no answer to Quest who took all of ten minutes to get unto the score sheet and led 4-0 at the half time break. 

 

The second half saw an overwhelming display from Quest as they slammed seven past their opponents to send a strong message to the rest of the league.

 

Despite his team’s dominant opening day display, coach Errol White is not getting carried away, “It is a work in progress. The season is six weeks long so we won’t get carried away because we have a long way to go to defend the title.

 

“It is virtually a new group, a new core. A lot of the players from last year have gone on to high school. But those new players are eager to play and are showing signs of wanting to repeat. There are a lot of good teams in the competition so we will be taking it one game at a time,” he reasoned
