STETHS and Manchester High in highly anticipated Ben Francis final

Defending Champions St. Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) will have home advantage today when they host neighbours Manchester High in the final of the ISSA/LIME Ben Francis Knockout Competition at 3:00pm.

Defending Champions St. Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) will have home advantage today when they host neighbours Manchester High in the final of the ISSA/LIME Ben Francis Knockout Competition at 3:00pm.

The game was original scheduled for Catherine Hall in Montego Bay but moved after both schools agreed that it would be better  for both sets of fans if the match was played at the STETHS playing field.

While the defending champions will appear to have home advantage it is expected that the Manchester fans will stream over the border to nullify the effects of the home supporters.

The last time these two teams met in the final was in 2011 with STETHS coming away 2-1 winners. Manchester High coach Sheldon Davis was quoted as saying that his team is mentally prepared to play at anywhere and does not anticipate that the venue will have any effect on his team’s performance this afternoon.

STETHS who won the competition from the spot over Grange Hill last season will be looking to make it four titles in a row while Manchester High will be looking to rip it from their grasp if front of their home fans.

Fans can expect a classic final since neither team holds any fear of the other and fast attacking football should be on display from the first whistle.
