Quest wins JISA Netball Rally

Kingston, Jamaica: Quest Preparatory School won the Jamaica Independent Schools Association (JISA) Prep Schools opening day netball rally on Thursday October 24th, when they edged Portmore Missionary Prep in an exciting final at the Lela Robinson Courts.

Kingston, Jamaica: Quest Preparatory School won the Jamaica Independent Schools Association (JISA) Prep Schools opening day netball rally on Thursday October 24th, when they edged Portmore Missionary Prep in an exciting final at the Lela Robinson Courts.

 

Twenty one schools, divided into four zones, participated in the one day event which began with an opening ceremony and dress parade. Teams played in a round robin format in their respective zones with the winners of each advancing to the semifinals.

 

Zone 1 winners, Our Lady of the Angels (OLA), had similar 4-0 wins over Lannamans  and St. Theresa before edging both Emmanuel Christian Academy and Wolmers 2-1 then finishing off with a 3-2 win over bright beginnings to advance to the semis.

 

In Zone 2, Quest steam-rolled their way through the zone, beating Ardenne 3-0, Dunrobin 5-0, Holy Childhood 3-0 and MC Bryan 6-0 before Mona stopped their winning streak in a game that ended 2-2. Quest advanced by virtue of scoring more goals as Mona too had completed the zone unbeaten.

 

Portmore Missionary advanced from Zone 3 with wins over Mavisville : 4-0, Vaz Prep 4-1, and a 1-1 tie with Hydel.

 

St. Catherine Prep also had an unbeaten run to the semis, getting by Suthermere 5-0, Excel 6-1, Trafalgar Christian 2-0 and St. Andrew 2-0.

 

Portmore Missionary edged OLA 3-2 in one semifinal while Quest out did St. Catherine 3-0 in the other.

 

OLA went on to claim third place with a 5-2 win over St. Catherine, before Quest claimed the top spot in the final, squeezing out a 4-3 win over a spirited Portmore Missionary team.

 

Wolmers were judged the best dressed team on the day.
