Fowler stars for Fever in Suncorp Super Netball League restart

Sterling had her usual good game in defence but could do nothing to stop the world’s number one shooter Jhaniele Fowler who guided the West Coast Fever to a 74-62 win.

 

 

 

The world’s number one shooter Jhaniele Fowler got her team, the West Coast Fever, off to a white-hot start as she led them to a 74-62 win over Adelaide Thunderbirds as the Suncorp Super Netball League got going on Saturday.

Fowler’s 53 goals from 57 attempts represented 72% of her team’s points as she and her team overpowered the Thunderbirds for whom her fellow Jamaican Shamera Sterling who plays.

Sunshine Coast Lightning also got off to a flying start with a crushing 66-48 win over the Queensland Firebirds for whom the Jamaican Romelda Aiken plays.

The Firebirds were able to hold their own up until the final quarter when they suffered a blowout in which they were outscored 24-6 by the Lightning.

The other two games this weekend will be contested on Sunday between the Giants Netball v NSW Swifts and Melbourne Vixens v Collingwood Magpies.
